RAIN has been fortunate to be a part of
the lives of so many wonderful people.
Here are some of their stories:
T. N.
“I was released from prison with serious health issues on December 2, 2008, at the age of 62. After my release, I spent five months on work release. Before and after my release from prison, Mr. John Henderson from RAIN was consistently a great help to me. During this time, John was the only person I could depend on. He gave me good advice, helped me with job interviews, and would make sure I had transportation to Christian programs. To this day, he continues to look after me and has become a close friend.”

"How was I going to take care of my family. RAIN helped me to get on my feet. They were understanding and very compassionate. They gave me something important. They gave me a chance to help myself. They assisted me through job interviews and gave me pointers. I am now employed and volunteer for RAIN.. I love helping and it feels good to be able to give back to the community after they have done so much to help me and my family."

"After my life went through an awful change, I landed at the Union Gospel Mission. I joined the Discipleship Program and met a brother there who helped me put my day at ease with his humble words and calm voice during our early morning devotion time. John from RAIN provided encouragement that helped motivate me forward each and every day, without conviction. I would like to thank Jesus for my salvation and also ask Him to continue to bless John and his ministry to the less fortunate."

"I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for all that you have done to help Steven after his incarceration. Your support and friendship helped him in so many ways Thank you just does not seem like enough. I just want you to know how much you have made a difference in our lives I am so happy to see Steven growing and maturing into a good man. I love him so much and it felt like something died when he went to prison. I worried about when he got out and how hard it was going to be for him to get going, get a decent job, go to school, and to keep God in his heart. I don't think, or I should say; I know I would not have been able to show him the community support systems like you did and your willingness to pick him up and take him back and forth for whatever his needs were. Thank you for being there.
